SarahAnn Knepper
SarahAnn is a children’s therapist who believes in the power of healing and freedom through telling your story. She believes that children are born persons, and are deserving of respect and dignity in life and in the therapeutic process. She utilizes Jungian Sandplay as a way of helping children process their emotions, work through their narratives, and make visible patterns and problems from their inner world. She has additionally received training and supervision to become a registered play therapist, and employs techniques from theories such as TraumaPlay and Cognitive-Behavioral Play Therapy to help kids process trauma and cope with its effects through addressing the physical symptoms and negative thought patterns often accompanied with having endured suffering at a young age.
Prior to working at InnerCompass, SarahAnn worked as a children’s therapist at The Summit Counseling Center. She has been married for ten years, and has spent the last nine staying home with her four children (all of whom are neurodivergent). She believes in tailoring treatment to the unique needs of each child, and to incorporating the parents into the journey of healing with each child she sees. She sees children ages 3 and up for presenting problems such as grief, trauma, divorce, anxiety, and depression.
SarahAnn is under the supervision of Carleen Newsome, LPC, CPCS, in addition to receiving supervision for Sandplay and Play Therapy.
